mendSoulPrivacy policy
mendSoul is built for moments when you feel fragile, so it collects as little as it can. This page explains exactly what that is.
The short version
- mendSoul works fully without an account. By default, everything you log stays on your phone.
- No ads. No analytics or tracking tools. We never sell your data or share it for advertising.
- If you choose to turn on cloud sync, a small set of numbers is backed up to your account. Never your written notes.
- You can delete your account and everything synced to it from inside the app, at any time.
Who we are
mendSoul is an app made by an independent developer. In this policy, "we" means the mendSoul developer. For any privacy question or request, email [email protected].
What stays on your phone
This is stored only on your device, and we never receive it:
- Mood notes, gratitude lines, thought records and worries you write
- Breathing sessions, panic button use, saved quotes and course progress
- Your settings, including reminders and sound preferences
- Everything else you log, unless you turn on cloud sync (below)
Android may include this data in your phone's own backup to your Google account, if you have device backup turned on. That backup is run by Google, under Google's privacy policy, we cannot see it.
What leaves your phone, and why
1. Cloud sync (only if you turn it on)
Cloud sync is optional and off by default. If you turn it on, you create an account and the following is stored on our database, so you can restore it on another phone:

| Profile | The name you gave the app, whether you chose to see faith-based content, and which traditions you picked (which can indicate religious beliefs). |
| Mood entries | The date and time, mood level, energy level, and any of the preset tags you tapped (for example "work" or "sleep"). Not your written note. |
| Daily logs | Hours and quality of sleep, glasses of water, meals, minutes of movement and minutes of mindfulness. Not your gratitude lines. |
| Wellbeing check-ins | Your score and answers for each check-in you complete. |
We use this only to back up and restore your own data. It is not used for advertising, profiling, research or training AI models, and no one else is given access to it.
It is hosted by Supabase, our database provider. It is encrypted in transit and at rest, and access rules on the database let each account read and write only its own rows.
2. Purchases (only if you buy mendSoul Plus)
Payments are handled entirely by Google Play. We never see your card or bank details. To confirm that you have Plus, the app uses RevenueCat, which receives a random ID created for this app (not your name or email) together with your purchase details, such as the product, price, country and purchase status. Google Play and RevenueCat keep purchase records as required for tax, refunds and fraud prevention.
3. Fonts
The first time you open mendSoul, it downloads its typefaces from Google Fonts. As with any web request, Google receives your IP address; no information about you or your use of the app is sent.
4. Crisis lines and links
If you tap a helpline number or a website, mendSoul hands it to your phone's dialer or browser. We are not told that you did, or who you called.
Notifications
Reminders are scheduled on your phone. There is no notification server, and we do not send push notifications.
How long we keep synced data
Synced data is kept for as long as your account exists. Turning off cloud sync stops new uploads. Deleting your account removes your account and all synced data permanently and immediately. See how to delete your account.
Your choices and rights
- Delete: in the app, go to Care, tap the settings gear, then Delete account. You can also email us from the address on your account and we will delete it within 30 days.
- Erase your phone's copy: Care → settings → Erase everything on this device.
- Access or correct: email us and we will send you a copy of your synced data, or correct it.
- Stop syncing: turn off Cloud sync in settings at any time. You never have to pay to stop uploads.
Depending on where you live, you may have further rights under local law, such as GDPR in the UK and EU. Email us to use any of them, or to complain; you can also contact your local data protection authority.
Children
mendSoul is intended for adults aged 18 and over. It is not designed for children, and we do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18. If you think a child has created an account, email us and we will delete it.
Not medical care
mendSoul is a wellbeing companion. It does not diagnose or treat any condition, and it does not replace a doctor or therapist. If you are in danger, call your local emergency number or use a crisis line from the app.
Changes to this policy
If we change what we collect, we will update this page and the date at the top before the change reaches the app. Significant changes will also be mentioned in the app.
